Terms of use

Updated 21 October 2026

By using the Telegram bot Ekonomist you agree to these terms. If any point raises a question, write to us — we will explain it, and correct it if we turn out to be wrong.

1.What this service is

Ekonomist is a tool for personal and family tracking of expenses and income. You record operations, the bot stores them, works out statistics and, when you ask, exports them to a file or a Google Sheet.

2.What it is not

Important

The bot is not a bank, not a payment system and not a financial adviser. It makes no payments, has no access to your accounts and gives no investment or tax advice. The figures in the statistics are your own records, not an accounting or tax document.

3.Your data is yours

The operations you record belong to you. You can take them out at any moment as an Excel file or a Google Sheet, and have them deleted by writing to the support address. How the data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

4.What we ask of you

5.Parsing is not always right

The amount, category and date are worked out from your sentence, your photo or a bank screenshot by a language model. It makes mistakes — especially on crumpled receipts and unusual wording; that is why transactions from a screenshot are recorded only after you confirm them. Recent records can be corrected — amount, category, date and type — or deleted in the bot's history, and it is worth doing right away: checking the result is your job.

6.Availability and liability

The bot is run by a private individual, not a company with a duty shift. The database is copied every night, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service: a server can reboot, an update can break what worked yesterday, and in the worst case data can be lost. So if your records matter to you, keep your own copy: the Excel export exists exactly for that.

We are liable for the service in the manner established by the law of the Russian Federation. While you use the bot for free — on the trial or with a promo code — we do not compensate losses caused by outages.

Neither we nor you are liable for failing to meet obligations because of force majeure, that is, extraordinary and unavoidable circumstances: decisions and actions of state authorities (including restrictions on access to Telegram), large-scale outages of Telegram, communications and the internet, epidemics, natural disasters, military action. We announce such circumstances in the @myekonomist channel.

7.Payment and refunds

This section is the terms of the paid subscription, and this whole page is a public offer under Article 437 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation: paying for a subscription means accepting it in full. The contract is concluded the moment you pay and lasts until the end of the paid term.

What you buy

A subscription to Ekonomist — access to recording operations in the bot for the chosen term: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, on one of two plans. How the plans differ and what they cost is on the home page. Prices are in Russian roubles; the price is fixed the moment an invoice is issued and holds for 24 hours — if the plans change while you are on your way to pay, you are charged what you agreed to.

A discount promo code is entered in Ekonomist (section “Subscription”) before checkout. It gives the discount stated in it on one subscription payment — on any plan and term, on top of the longer-term discount. The discounted price is shown in the subscription bot before you pay and is fixed in the invoice; once paid, the discount counts as used and is not restored on a refund, and a refund is calculated from the amount actually paid. A promo code may have a validity period: after it the code can no longer be entered, and a discount from it that has not been used no longer applies. The discount cannot be exchanged for money.

Recognition has a daily limit per person: up to 200 phrases and up to 30 photos, PDFs and screenshots a day (days by Moscow time). It does not get in the way of ordinary bookkeeping and keeps one account from overloading the service for everyone else. Above the limit, nothing more is recognized that day; everything recorded stays available.

How to pay

In the subscription bot (linked from Ekonomist, section “Subscription”) you pick a plan and a term, the bot issues an invoice and gives you a link to the Robokassa payment page (Robokassa LLC). It accepts cards of Russian banks, SBP and the other methods shown on the page, as well as Visa and Mastercard cards issued outside Russia — those are charged in the card’s currency at your bank’s rate. You enter card details on the Robokassa side: the bot neither receives nor stores them. A receipt is issued automatically.

Robokassa does not accept cards issued in these countries: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Canada, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Mali, Myanmar, Nicaragua, North Korea, South Korea, Sudan, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, the United States, Venezuela, Western Sahara, Yemen, Zimbabwe. Robokassa keeps this list, and it may change. If your card was issued in one of these countries, pay with a card of a Russian bank or via SBP.

When it starts and how it renews

From the moment the payment is confirmed — usually within a minute; the confirmation arrives in the subscription bot. If a subscription is already active on the same plan, the paid term is added to it. If the plan is different, the unused remainder of the old plan is converted into days of the new one at the daily price — the monthly price divided by 30 — rounded up in your favour, and the paid term is added on top of that. The remaining trial days are kept in full on either plan, and the paid term starts after them. The subscription bot shows the result before you pay. There is no auto-renewal: nothing is charged without a new action from you.

Refunds and cancellation

You can cancel at any moment. If no more than 14 days have passed since payment and no operation has been recorded in the bot since, you get a full refund. Otherwise you get back the cost of the unused part of the paid term — in proportion to the time left, rounded in your favour. Write to myekonomist@gmail.com with your account ID (shown in “Subscription”) or your Telegram name and the invoice number; the money goes back the way it was paid within 10 days, and the subscription is shortened by the refunded part of the term.

If a payment is cancelled through a bank or a payment system, the subscription bought with that payment ends.

Who you pay

The service is provided by Timofey Igorevich Polyakov, a self-employed individual (payer of professional income tax, Russia), TIN 614308481385. Email: myekonomist@gmail.com.

Law and disputes

The contract is governed by the law of the Russian Federation. If something goes wrong, write to myekonomist@gmail.com first: we reply within 10 days and try to settle the matter by correspondence. If no agreement is reached, the dispute is resolved in the manner established by the law of the Russian Federation, including consumer protection law.

What stops without a subscription

Without an active subscription only recording new operations stops: new expenses and income are not saved and recurring payments are not charged. Everything already recorded stays available to you — statistics, history, editing and export work as usual. New users get two weeks free; the trial is given once per person.

8.Ending

You can stop using the bot whenever you like. Your data stays with you — but not forever: after a year of complete inactivity the budget is deleted, and the bot warns you a month ahead (details in the privacy policy).

From our side access is closed if the bot is deliberately broken or overloaded, used to reach other people's budgets, or if access is obtained by deception — for example, by creating accounts to get the trial again. If a paid term remains, we will refund the cost of its unused part.

If we decide to shut the service down completely, we will announce it in the bot and in the @myekonomist channel at least 30 days in advance and refund the unused paid terms.

9.Changes

The terms may change; the date at the top of the page will be updated. Changes do not affect a term already paid for: it runs out on the conditions it was paid under.
